this is the hallway outside andy and carmen’s room.
they gave birth to a six pound, 10.25 ounce boy today — though not without complications.
they had planned a cesarean anyway, but it turns out he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his lil neck. 🙁
he also was having trouble breathing, and they had a tube-o-air in him for a few hours today.
about noon, that stopped, and he was looking pretty great when we saw him at about 4:30, though he was still in the NICU.
he has about four inches of umbilical cord still, which really threw me off — i mean, woah. it looks like…. deflated skin balloon.

but they seem happy enough, and carmen looks amazing for having had surgery/baby today.
